Experience

I have a passion for education. I would like to be a college professor in the future. I currently work at the cognition and tracking lab at Cal State San Marcos. I have extensive knowledge of statistics and statistical procedures in biology and psychology and general statistical application. I am strong in math subjects. During my college career I have taken three semesters of statistics (biostatistics, behavioral statistics, and advanced statistics), two semester of physics, a semester of precalculus, and a semester of calculus 1. I am also strong in biological subjects having taken two semesters of general biology (one semester of cellular biology, and another semester of organisms and populations) during college. Throughout my years in college I have become an excellent writer. My bachelors degree program in research psychology required me to constantly write research reports. In my final semester as an undergraduate I was admitted into a graduate research methods course where I was required to write professional research proposals.

Hobbies

I am passionate about education. I am pursuing a career in research which ultimately means a career as a college professor. I currently do research at the Cognition and Tracking Lab at Cal State San Marcos. On my free time I enjoy running, doing yoga, swimming in the ocean, skateboarding, and hiking. I always get excited about scholarly topics and am known to inspire interest in others. For example I have two younger siblings one in middle school and the other in high school, and when I visit them on weekends I spend hours explaining to them the interesting things that iv learned at my higher level of education. I also stress the importance of establishing a strong foundation of knowledge early on in their education. I am always interested in hearing what they are currently learning because it gives me chances to relate the topics to something cool and interesting that will keep them motivated to learn and give them a new perspective of their studies. I feel that I work very well with children and young adults. Having two young siblings has provided me with a lot of experience working with younger age groups.
